Remove unwanted pages from a PDF in seconds. Free browser tool — no Adobe Acrobat, no account required.

You have a PDF and one or two pages need to go — a blank page at the end, a cover sheet you do not need, a page added in error, or a confidential section you should not be sending. Deleting pages from a PDF does not require Adobe Acrobat. Here is how to do it for free in your browser.

How to delete a page from a PDF

The quickest approach uses Filero's Split PDF tool, which lets you select exactly which pages to keep and which to discard.

  1. Open the Split PDF tool and upload your PDF.
  2. The tool shows thumbnails of every page. Deselect the pages you want to remove by clicking on them (they will be greyed out).
  3. Keep all the pages you want to retain selected.
  4. Click "Extract Selected Pages" or "Download".
  5. You get a new PDF containing only the pages you kept — the deleted pages are gone.

This approach gives you full control: you can delete a single page, multiple non-consecutive pages, or a range of pages all at once. The original file on your device is unchanged — you are always working with a copy.

How to delete multiple pages at once

In the Split PDF tool, you can click individual page thumbnails to toggle them between selected and deselected. To delete a range of pages — say pages 5 through 9 from a 20-page document — deselect those five pages and keep pages 1 through 4 and 10 through 20 selected, then download. The result is a PDF with those pages removed and the remaining pages in their original order.

Deleting pages on different platforms

On Mac using Preview

Preview has native page deletion:

  1. Open the PDF in Preview.
  2. Go to View → Thumbnails to show the sidebar.
  3. Click the thumbnail of the page you want to delete. Hold Cmd to select multiple pages.
  4. Press the Delete key.
  5. Save the file with Cmd+S (note: this overwrites the original — use File → Export as PDF to save a separate copy first).

On Windows using a browser

Windows does not have a built-in PDF editor, so a browser tool is the easiest option. The Split PDF approach above works in any browser on Windows with no software to install.

On iPhone

Open Filero's Split PDF tool in Safari on your iPhone, upload the PDF from your Files app, deselect the pages you want to remove, and download the result.

After deleting pages: compress or re-number

After removing pages, the PDF page count changes but the file size may not reduce proportionally — especially for scanned documents where the blank or unwanted page was a large image. If the resulting file is still larger than you need, run it through Filero's Compress PDF tool to shrink it further.

If your document had page numbers embedded as a footer or watermark, those will remain as-is after deletion. To re-add correct page numbers to the edited version, use Filero's PDF Page Numbers tool.

Frequently asked questions

Can I delete a page from a password-protected PDF?

Only if you know the password. Use Filero's Unlock PDF tool to remove the password first, then proceed with page deletion.

Is it possible to undo a page deletion?

The Split PDF tool works on a copy of your file — your original PDF on your device is never modified. If you delete the wrong pages, simply re-upload the original and start again.

Can I delete blank pages automatically?

Not automatically via the tool — you will need to identify and deselect blank pages manually in the thumbnail view. However, blank pages are easy to spot at a glance in the thumbnail grid, so this rarely takes more than a few seconds.
