Peanuts and tree nuts are both declared as Nut. Sulphite is declared at 10 mg/kg or more. Food service establishments must also show allergen information against items on menus, and symbols are allowed. Based on regulation 5(14) and regulation 9 of the FSS (Labelling and Display) Regulations 2020. Verify against your local rules. Last verified 2026-11-08. FSSAI: Labelling and Display Regulations

Regulation 5(14) of the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations 2020 lists the foods known to cause allergy: cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt), crustacean, milk, egg, fish, nut (peanuts and tree nuts), soy, and sulphite at 10 mg/kg or more. The chart has one column for each group.
Regulation 9 asks food service establishments to mention allergen information against the food items on menu cards or boards, and allows easy to understand symbols. There are exceptions, such as event caterers and premises that operate for less than 60 days a year. Regulation 8(4) also asks for allergen information where prepared food is sold or served. A chart keeps the facts for every dish in one place for your staff and your menu.
The regulation declares peanuts and tree nuts together as Nut, so they share one column. Gluten cereals are declared by the name of the cereal, so the tool asks which cereal when you tag one.
A C comes only from the allergens you tagged. An M is cross-contact you chose to declare, which the regulation words as "May contain".
Regulation 5(14) lists cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt), crustacean, milk, egg, fish, nut (peanuts and tree nuts), soy, and sulphite at 10 mg/kg or more. Oils and distilled alcoholic drinks made from them, and raw agricultural commodities, are exempt.
Regulation 9 of the Labelling and Display Regulations asks food service establishments to mention allergen information against menu items, with some exceptions. Check the current FSSAI rules for your type of business.
