Sometimes you need a PDF as an image — to share a single page on social media, embed it in a presentation, or send it to someone who cannot open PDF files. Converting a PDF to JPG is quick and free when you use the right tool.

How to convert a PDF to JPG in seconds

  1. Go to filero.app/tools/pdf-to-jpeg.
  2. Click Select PDF file or drag your PDF onto the upload area.
  3. The tool converts each page of your PDF into a separate JPG image.
  4. Download the images individually or as a ZIP file if your PDF has multiple pages.

No account, no watermark, no software to install. The conversion happens on our server — your file is deleted immediately after you download the images.

When to convert PDF to JPG

  • Sharing a single page — a flyer, certificate, or poster that looks better as an image than as a PDF link
  • Embedding in a presentation — PowerPoint and Google Slides work much better with JPG images than embedded PDFs
  • Uploading to a website or social media — most platforms accept images but not PDFs
  • Archiving scanned documents — some workflows prefer individual page images over a multi-page PDF
  • Previewing — generating a thumbnail of a PDF page without opening the whole file

PDF to JPG on Mac, Windows, and iPhone

On a Mac

Open the PDF in Preview, then go to File → Export. In the Format dropdown, choose JPEG, set the quality slider, and click Save. This saves only the currently visible page. To export all pages, use Filero or a script.

On Windows

Windows does not have a built-in PDF to image tool. The easiest option is to use Filero online. Alternatively, if you have Microsoft Word, open the PDF in Word, then screenshot individual pages using the Snipping Tool.

On iPhone

Open filero.app/tools/pdf-to-jpeg in Safari, upload your PDF from Files or Photos, and download the JPG images. No app download required. Alternatively, open the PDF in the Files app, take a screenshot of the page you need, and crop the image in Photos.

JPG vs PNG: which format should I use?

JPG is the right choice for most PDFs. It produces smaller file sizes and is widely supported. The slight lossy compression is not noticeable for typical documents.

Use PNG instead if:

  • Your PDF contains text or line art that needs to stay perfectly sharp
  • You need a transparent background
  • You plan to edit the image further and want to avoid compression artefacts

Filero also offers a PDF to PNG converter if you need lossless output.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a multi-page PDF to JPG?

Yes. Filero converts every page of your PDF into a separate JPG file. If your PDF has more than one page, you can download all the images as a ZIP archive in one click.

What resolution will the JPG images be?

Filero renders PDF pages at 150 DPI by default, which is suitable for screen viewing, presentations, and web use. For print-quality images you may want higher DPI — contact us if you have specific requirements.

Is my PDF file private?

Yes. Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, converted on our server using pdf2image, and deleted immediately once you download the result. We do not store, log, or inspect the contents of your files.

Ready to try it?
